"I had a unique and excellent surgical experience with Dr. Lerman when my ENT diagnosed that my breathing problem was due to a collapse of my nasal passages. SO my procedure was not aesthetic; however, now I can both breathe and my "new nose" looks great! You won't find a more highly skilled, professional, clear communicator than Dr. Lerman. His office staff is equally supportive, responsive and professional." —Cal, 5-Star Review

We Bring Your Ideas to Life Watch Your Face Evolve As You Try on Different Noses
Using Our Advanced 3D Imagery

Our sophisticated 3D imaging lets you discuss your preferences for nose surgery
with Dr. Lerman and then see the results in real time during the consultation.

Compare How Different Noses Look on Your Face

The Crisalix 3D imaging system helps address a common communication challenge in plastic surgery. Describing subtle changes using words alone can be difficult, and before-and-after photos of other patients do not show how a nose will look on your own face.

With 3D imaging, a digital model of your face is created, and the nose can be adjusted to explore different shapes and proportions in real time. As choices are discussed during your consultation, you and Dr. Lerman can evaluate how each option relates to your facial structure and profile.

After your visit, you will have access to the simulated images so you can review them at your own pace and share them with family or trusted advisors before making a decision.

Our advanced imaging technology allows you to:

  • Discuss your preferences with Dr. Lerman while viewing changes in real time
  • Compare different nasal shapes and dimensions, including width, tip angle, and contour
  • View proposed changes from multiple angles for a more complete visual reference

Explore the Possibilities

Clear communication is essential in rhinoplasty planning. The Crisalix 3D imaging system supports a shared visual understanding by allowing patients to see proposed changes to their own face from multiple angles. During consultation, you can explore different nasal shapes and compare options while discussing your goals with Dr. Lerman.

This collaborative process combines visual simulation with Dr. Lerman’s expertise in facial anatomy to guide thoughtful surgical planning. If you would like to move beyond verbal descriptions and better understand how certain options can affect the outcome of surgery, we invite you to request a consultation at our Manhattan or White Plains office.

Rhinoplasty Surgery Candidates

Candidacy for rhinoplasty is evaluated during a comprehensive consultation and examination. In general, good candidates for rhinoplasty should:

  • Have completed facial growth so the nose is fully developed
  • Not smoke
  • Be in good overall health
  • Have specific, realistic goals for treatment

Do You Want to Revise Your Rhinoplasty?

If you are unhappy with the results of a previous surgery, have experienced healing issues, or have developed scar tissue, you may wish to undergo revision rhinoplasty. This procedure tends to be even more complex than primary rhinoplasty, so it is important to choose a surgeon with extensive training, experience, and credentials. During your consultation at our Manhattan or Westchester County offices, we can develop a treatment plan for revision rhinoplasty to help you finally achieve the results you desire.

What Can
Rhinoplasty Treat?

Aesthetic Issues

Many patients are interested in rhinoplasty to improve their appearance and self-confidence. Rhinoplasty surgery can address:

  • A nose that is too large or too wide in proportion to other facial features
  • A sizable bump on the nasal bridge, which may disrupt the facial profile
  • A nasal tip that droops, is too thick, or is enlarged
  • An over-projected or under-projected nasal tip
  • Nostrils that are too large or misshapen
  • Overly thin or short nasal bones
  • An off-center or crooked nose that disturbs the symmetry of the face

Functional Issues

Rhinoplasty isn't just about looks; it can also improve your health. Misshapen or abnormally positioned nasal structures can cause difficulty breathing. When patients have medical conditions such as a deviated septum (misaligned cartilage between the nostrils), it obstructs the patient’s airway. Resolving this issue requires nose surgery. Dr. Lerman has the training and experience to correct the structural problems associated with a misaligned septum.

The Rhinoplasty Procedure Step-By-Step

Everybody’s nose is unique, and each rhinoplasty procedure is performed according to your personalized plan. In general, most patients can expect:

Your specific surgery may involve augmenting, reducing, and refining certain areas of the nose, such as the cartilage, to achieve the results you desire.

Anesthesia

After administering anesthesia to ensure your complete comfort throughout the duration of your procedure, your board-certified surgeon will begin your surgery.

Incisions

Based on our recommendations and the treatment plan that was developed during your consultation at our New York City offices, Dr. Lerman will create the necessary incisions. These incisions will be as small and discreet as possible while still allowing Dr. Lerman to achieve the best possible results.

Nasal Reshaping

Next, Dr. Lerman will make any necessary alterations to help you achieve your aesthetic goals. This may involve augmenting, reducing, and refining certain areas of the nose, such as the bridge, tip, nostrils, cartilage, or septum.

Sutures

Non-dissolvable or dissolvable sutures may be used on the inside or outside of the nose to close the incisions.

Splint

A splint or internal packing may be placed to aid in healing and contouring. Dr. Lerman will instruct you on the proper use and wear time for your splint, so there's no confusion. He will also likely remove it himself on a follow-up visit.

When Will I See Results from Rhinoplasty?

Your nasal results will become more apparent as swelling subsides, with most of the healing taking place within the first few months. However, it is important to note that it can take a full year to completely heal.

Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty

If you are unhappy with the appearance of your nose but are not ready to undergo surgery, nonsurgical rhinoplasty using injectable fillers may be an option.

Often referred to as a liquid rhinoplasty, this approach uses dermal fillers to adjust nasal contour in a brief, in-office procedure. Fillers (typically hyaluronic acid products such as Restylane® or JUVÉDERM®) are injected beneath the skin to add volume or smooth irregularities. Results can last from several months to a few years, depending on the product used, your anatomy, and treatment goals.

Injectable fillers cannot make the nose smaller or achieve significant structural changes. For patients seeking more dramatic or permanent correction, surgical rhinoplasty may be the more appropriate option. Nonsurgical rhinoplasty is generally best suited for subtle, temporary refinements.
